Collab -Wedding Blessing

After the vows had been exchanged, the High King put his hand on top their joined ones that were still wrapped with the ribbon, “What I declare joined, let no man sunder.” He made to tie the two ends together as the ceremony required. He stopped mid reach and stared at the ribbon, then backed away and put his hand on his sword, like he was about to draw it. Yokov reflexively gripped Rori’s hand tightly then looked down at what the king was staring at. The ribbon was glowing a bright blue.

“Easy, Your Majesty, The Gods simply want to have their say in this matter.” Vergard put a reassuring hand on the High King’s shoulder, then passed him to stand in front of the newlyweds. His voice echoed strangely as he made his pronouncement, “Blessed by The Gods, bound by The Gods, protected by The Gods.” The ribbon tied itself into a fancy looking bow at their elbows, then glowed brighter and brighter until it disappeared in a small burst of sparkles. “You and your descendants will be all of these things.”

{Show off.} Yokov muttered under his breath.

{Agreed.} Rori responded softly and then put her arm around Yokov’s waist.

“If you’re done upstaging me, Vergard Yokovson, I’d like to finish this so we can get to the feasting.” The High King growled out from behind the glowing figure.

Vergard turned and grinned at the High King, obviously unapologetic for his actions, “Of course, Your Majesty.” He bowed and vanished in another burst of blue sparkles.

The High King cleared his throat and approached Rori and Yokov again like nothing odd or unusual had just happened. The newlyweds stood with their arms around each other and watched the High King carefully. His voice raised authoritatively, “By my word and hand,” He looked at where Vergard had been and added, “and by The Gods’ declaration,” he drew his sword and held it over Rori and Yokov’s heads, “I pronounce you married.” The High King lowered his sword and then motioned to them with it and said quietly, “Go on and kiss, you two.”
